Can I use my local pool for free?
Unfortunately Aspire has no control over admission prices at participating pools across the country. We advise that individuals and teams approach their local pool with regard to any monetary matters.
How to I create a team or add a team member?
Creating a team or adding a team member is simple! Visit our 'TEAM HELP PAGE' blog for all the information you need about teams.
A member of the Aspire Channel Swim team can also easily add a team mate to your team; just email email@example.com with your team name and their full name. Please be aware however that to be in a team you must be registered as an individual first!
Do I need to let Aspire know if I cannot finish the distance?
We keep in touch with our swimmers throughout the challenge with letters and emails, so please let us know if you cannot complete the challenge.
How many lengths do I have to swim in my local pool?

Do I need to get my record card signed?
You do not need to get your record card signed by your local pool. Use your record card to note your lengths each time you swim and return to Aspire as proof you have finished the swim. If you would like to get your lengths verified and your pool is happy to do so then please do.
Do I/we have to complete the 22 miles in one session?
The challenge is designed so each team or individual has control over their own swimming. You can swim the distance in one day or break it down into regular sessions over the twelve weeks of the challenge.
What happens once I have registered?
Once you have registered for the Aspire Channel Swim you will receive a welcome pack, which will contain your official Aspire Channel Swim hat and sponsorship form. You will also get a booklet jam packed with swimming and fundraising tips, your record card, and information about Aspire.
What is Aspire?
Aspire is a charity that exists because there is no cure for spinal cord injury. Every eight hours, someone in the UK is paralysed by spinal cord injury. By taking part in the Aspire Channel Swim, your fundraising is helping to provide practical support so people with spinal cord injuries can lead active and independent lives.
How long do I have to do the Swim?
The Aspire Channel Swim runs for 12 weeks, but we know that you might be a little quicker or need a bit more time than this.

You can also donate via credit/debit card over the phone by calling our freephone number - 0800 0370 880. We do not recommend sending cash in the post.
When do I need to send/collect my sponsorship?
Once you have finished your challenge you should start collecting your sponsorship pledges. Once you have collected in the money please send it to Aspire with your record card and sponsorship form/s and we will replace them with your 'I swam the Channel' Certificate and any incentive prizes you are eligible for.
What is JustGiving?
JustGiving is a separate website to the Aspire Channel Swim which enables you to set up an electronic sponsorship form. You can email the link to this sponsorship form round to all your friends and family to ask them to sponsor you and you can share your fundraising and swimming updates on Facebook and Twitter.
